Welcast Agro Ltd. has achieved a significant milestone by converting all its agricultural operations to 100% sustainable farming practices. The achievement makes it one of the first agricultural enterprises in Bangladesh to achieve full sustainability certification.
The transition involved implementing renewable energy systems across all plantation sites, zero-waste processing techniques, organic pest management, and water conservation measures. The company invested BDT 50 crore in sustainability upgrades over the past three years.
"Sustainability is not just good for the environment — it's good business," said the Managing Director. "Our sustainable practices have reduced operational costs by 15% while improving product quality."
